For Tom Stone, one of our founders, the name has another meaning too: Second Star is the second games studio he has brought into existence.
In 2003, after several years at Electronic Arts working on FIFA and Harry Potter, Tom founded Giant Interactive and secured the worldwide rights to make LEGO® video games. The first title, LEGO® Star Wars™, launched in 2005 and helped define a new kind of family game: funny, accessible, inventive and built to be played together.
That work grew into the LEGO® games franchise, including LEGO® Batman™, LEGO® Indiana Jones™, LEGO® Lord of the Rings™, LEGO® Marvel™ and LEGO® Harry Potter™. The series has since sold more than 275 million copies, generated over $4 billion in revenue and shaped a generation of young gamers.
Now, many of the people who helped make those games special are reuniting at Second Star Games, joined by ambitious new talent, to build the next generation of premium family co-op adventures.
